    Works Great, 22 Apr 2010

Bought this because of the other customer reviews and it being cheaper than the official microsoft one. Turned out to be a great choice. Voice quality seems to be a lot better and it's just more comfortable than the original. Good Buy :)

3 years of use and still going strong!!!, 9 Apr 2010

First off, since others don't appear to understand what this device is for... This is a communications headset for chatting with other players in a game on Xbox Live, sending/receiving voice messages on Xbox live, and for use in chatting to others in an Xbox Live Party session. It is NOT designed to play sounds from the games. On a side note, I've plugged this into a cordless phone from time to time to use it hands free. Yes, it is the same as a telephone headset and will work as one in a pinch.

I have had this headset for over 3 years with no issues. I bought a second one as a backup but have never had need of it.

It works fine with the Xbox 360 headset adapter or "puck" as it's called and this is how I've always used mine. I don't bother with the volume or mute that is built into the cord. I use the mute switch on the "puck" and thus never have to move my hands from the controller.

This is not a powered device, so amplification is limited to the max volume of the controller output jack. This has always been enough for me but if you're hard of hearing or a stone deaf teenager, this may not be enough for you.

I've found this to be comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

No one ever has difficulty hearing me or says it sounds like I'm breathing into the microphone.

It doesn't pick up on background noises as easily as the Microsoft headset, so you don't get the "open mic" issue as easily during games.

It's rugged enough that if you don't abuse it, it's not going to break easily.

Many people that I've played with in R6V2 over the last 3 years have commented on how clear I sound and have switched to this headset them self.

Plantronics has been making headsets for office phones for ages and it shows in this product.

Great, affordable Xbox headset!, 8 Apr 2010

Pros: Cheap, very clear communication, comfortable

Cons: Only able to hear communication, not game sounds.

    Neutral: Cord length, mute button.

I recently purchased a Xbox 360 Arcade so I needed a headset for multiplayer gaming. After seeing how cheaply made the official Xbox headset is, I decided to go with this and am very glad I did. It's a very affordable option and has better communication than official headsets. This headset doesn't pick up any background noise, contrary to what others have said, and is quite comfortable even during long periods of use and for those with big heads (like me). I may be missing a setting on my Xbox, but this headset doesn't play game sounds, only communication from others with headsets. Lastly, the cord length is quite long which could be good for some and annoying for others. Also, I sort of wish that it had a button to toggle/press rather than the small switch on the side. It would just be easier to click back and forth, which is helpful if you're trying to talk to people at home.

    Headset, 6 Apr 2010

Headset has worked good so far, does not come with anything to stop you from breathing into the mic, otherwise it's worth the money.

    Excellent headset!, 5 Apr 2010

I had one of those under-the-ear headsets and it broke within 6 months. I was looking around the net for a new headset that looked great and had an affordable price. I stumbled upon this headset and was amazed that the price tag was only $10. I bought in a heart beat and within 2 days, I received it. Let me tell you, this headset is amazing. The sound quality is definitely top-notch. I can hear my friends without a problem. The voice is also very responsive. I recorded myself with the headset and its clear and it didn't pick up any background noise. The overall design of the headset is really slick with its black and green which definitely matches the Xbox 360's colors. It's very sturdy and not as flimsy as other headsets I have had in the past. And overall, it's pretty comfortable to wear for long periods of time. But one thing that bothered me though is that it sometimes pulled my hair. lol.

One other small nitpick that have is that the volume and mute buttons are not directly connected to the controller. Which means that if you want to lower the volume or mute yourself, your're going to have to take your hand off the controller and go to the inline.

But other than that, this headset is the best headset I have ever owned in my gaming years. The overall quality you get is amazing. The sound, voice-pickup, design. I definitely recommend this headset to anyone who is looking for quality and an affordable price.

Great headset, confortable, no issues after months of use, 2 Apr 2010

This is a great headset and a cheap pricetag to boot. It's comfortable even after several hours of play. The only negatives are: 1. the mic placement wasn't as adjustable as i was hoping for 2. wish volume would go louder, i have a loud a/c unit 3. wish in-line volume control was higher up on the wire

    Broken?, 31 Mar 2010

After about 4 months of steady usage it broke as my brother stretched it over his head.

He then superglued it and left it, I came home and got super glue in my hair.

I guess after so much use anything breaks, Right?

Better quality than the one in the Box, 15 Mar 2010

My wife bought me the 360 elite package for Christmas and the headset that came with the box only worked if you pressed the volume down, which sort of defeats the whole "hands free audio" aspect. Knowing that they would likely just replace it with another crappy version, I opted instead for this headset. It's more robust and the audio is a bit better. A nice alternative the cheap version that comes with the box.

BEWARE no gaming sound with these, 4 Mar 2010

I guess maybe I am just not gamer savvy since I don't play the xbox myself but perhaps there are other parents out there trying to purchase a headset for their kids who are in the same position. I didn't realize that this headset does not receive the sounds of the game play. This information is not provided in the product description nor in any of the many reviews I read before purchasing them. Seems like important information that should be clearly stated so there is no confusion but apparently nobody has bothered to point this out so I am. We have owned several headsets, all much more expensive and when the last set died two days ago, I went to search for a replacement. I saw these, saw the rave reviews and the low price, read the product description and read about 10 reviews and then decided what a great option they are for so much less money. Well, you get what you pay for, essentially they are just a microphone to talk into. They arrived yesterday and my son put them on and complained that there is no sound at all. Finally after spending a lot of time messing with various wires trying to figure out what we could possibly be doing wrong, we decided to call the company and had a tech advisor talk to us for about an hour. In the end, we determined that they are not intended to receive any sounds from the gaming. Yes, the microphone works but you have to turn the sound on through the speakers or whatever set up you have for any other game play so this will not keep your house quiet while someone is playing and the player will not hear the "details" of the game like they would with a different headset. It would have been very helpful to have been given this information in the product description before purchasing them. I guess we are back to spending a lot more for the Turtle Beach headsets. Meantime, I took a chance and plugged this headset into my phone and it works fine, you can hear clearly and be heard so now at least I have a use for it and don't have to bother spending the money to return them since it would cost nearly as much as the product itself to do so.

Very happy with the results, 4 Mar 2010

I ordered this headset for my husband to play COD MW2. It was very reasonably priced even with the shipping and handing. I've never ordered anything through Amazon before and I was suprised to find out that it was very reliable and so easy. My package was delivered within four days as promised in a new package. The headset is very comfortable and has great sound control. Its very simple and easy to use.

I couldnt be happier with the product I recieved and the way it was delivered.

    Will definately order again!

    Worst Headset, 28 Feb 2010

This headset is cheap, and everything you're paying for. It was very quiet, I could not hear friends over xbox live and they could not hear me. The headset was distorted over xbox live, it crackled and cut out. I've been so frustrated over this "5 star" headset I destroyed with my own two hands...not even worth the effort trying to get a refund...

Great Headset replacement, 24 Feb 2010

I got this headset as a replacement for the one that normally comes with the Xbox 360 after I broke it. This is a great headset, good sound and comfortable to wear. There are no problems with the mic and my friends that I play Modern Warfare 2 with can hear me great. The only complaint that I have is that the over the head holder is a little loose, but it does not effect the quality of sound. All and all a great headset replacement for an even better price.

Work, but low price for a reason., 23 Feb 2010

Sound fine when working. Nice comfortable headset for $10 bucks, but mine broke within 60 days.

I was not rough with them, an only used them an average of 6 hours a week.

Wish mine still worked, but I will not purchase them again.

Good build quality, poor mic performance., 20 Feb 2010

Maybe the unit I received is defective, but I have to shout for the mic to pick my voice up. The headset is comfortable and fairly good looking, but the terrible mic makes it a failure. It's cheap for a reason, look elsewhere.

Better then the Microsoft ones at least., 17 Feb 2010

This is defiantly a better headset then the free one, and as all Xbox Live gamers know those suck eggs. It fits comfortably on my head and the sound is just as good or better then the free one. Though i cant say this isnt without one small problem ive had, when i play with friends and i accidentally pull out the cord there seems to be a connection problem with the text pad i use and the headset. Could be just mine but something that you should be aware of at least. Over all id say if you want an upgrade in mic that wont cost you the price of 3 games go with this one.

    just ok., 17 Feb 2010

This headset "worked", but it was very hard for my friends to hear me talking on Xbox Live. I would have to talk louder than normal for them to hear me with this headset. The microsoft one is better, in my opinion.

Great! Definately worth buying!, 13 Feb 2010

I've had an Xbox 360 for a while and just got Xbox live and hooked it all up. I thought this headset didnt work at first but I had to change the family settings to "can communicate with everyone and friends" and now it works perfectly.

    Xbox 360 headset (over-the-head style)

I purchased this headset when the original one and one my son got from a friend broke. It arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The price was good. It was easy to use giftcodes I had received. My son says he likes it.
